Upgrade

Automated Upgrade

An automatic upgrade procedure is available in the UI from v1.0.36 onward. If a new version is available, a banner will appear on the status page with a link to perform the upgrade.

Manual Upgrade

Run the following commands over SSH to upgrade the VPN Server:

curl -o configmanager https://in4it-vpn-server.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/binaries/${VPN_SERVER_VERSION}/configmanager-linux-amd64
chown vpn:vpn rest-server reset-admin-password configmanager
chmod 700 rest-server reset-admin-password configmanager
setcap 'cap_net_bind_service=+ep' rest-server
chattr +i rest-server reset-admin-password configmanager 2>/dev/null || true
systemctl restart vpn-configmanager
systemctl restart vpn-rest-server

Revert to an Older Version

Run the same commands as above, but specify a version instead:

VPN_SERVER_VERSION=v1.x.x

Replacing the binaries manually

From v1.1.21 onward, the binaries in /vpn (rest-server, configmanager and reset-admin-password) have the immutable attribute set. The upgrade in the UI and the commands above handle this. If you replace a binary in another way, run chattr -i <binary> first. The attribute is set again when vpn-configmanager starts.
